Welcome to DARK HORSE farm

‘Dark Horse Farm Yackandandah’ is a 100 acre paradise where we are actively regenerating the land - planting thousands of native trees, shrubs and ground cover.

We run retreats dedicated to holistic horsewomen (and anyone who wants better wellbeing), host horse related events and care for horses as naturally as possible, following the latest science. You can stay with us (and bring your horse or dog). You can get married here. You can also support the farm by following us on Social Media.

Come stay

A cozy, two bedroom ‘straw bale’ house, our guest cottage is a fully fenced, tastefully furnished home with chef’s kitchen, large screen television, wi-fi, fireplace, Jacuzzi and delightful views. It sits next to our main dam, island and gazebo. Private and peaceful. Dogs and horses are welcome. Learn more here.

Get married

Dark Horse Farm is a beautiful place to be married. Our unique gazebo, gorgeous gardens, accommodation with Jacuzzi - and talented team of caterers, florist, hospitality staff, musicians and photographers, ensure that your special day is exactly as you’ve dreamed. Learn more here.

OUR organically grown produce

We’re growing a lot of stuff - all organically. Guests are welcome to pick their own fruit and vegetables from our orchards and vege patch. We also share locally via our farm gate.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for seasonal produce available via our farm gate.

About your hosts

For around 20 years…

My husband and I have been professional adventurers, best known for our wingsuit adventuring and professional inspirational keynote speaking. During this time, I also did some corporate work, most notably for Australian Geographic.

In 2019, we moved from Sydney to Yackandandah, to a stunning country property on Back Creek Road, kept company by a range of furry animals: 12 horses, 3 dogs, 2 sheep and 6 chickens. Because of COVID lockdowns, we couldn’t jump or travel, so we decided to turn our focus to the farm and reflect on what might be next.

A change of direction

After doing a Podcast with renowned horse trainer Warwick Schiller, I received a lot of requests from women asking if I could teach them techniques for dealing with anxiety and fear. I worked very successfully with one client in the US, designing a holistic wellness approach for her that would boost her confidence to return to riding after a bad accident.

I’m passionate about sharing the fear management I’ve learned throughout 20 years as a wingsuit adventurer, to help others overcome the thought and habit patterns holding them back from living more fully.

This then sparked the idea to begin sharing our beautiful slice of land with guests as a space for people to come and work through fear and anxiety, with my experience to guide them, along with ours – or their own – horses. In between the retreats, our property is also a place to come and stay (with your furry four-legged friends), get married, or sample our healthy, organically grown produce.

Hope to see you soon!
